History

Highscreen - brand electronic devices, such as smart phones and video recorders. Active development of the brand was launched in 2009. Owned by Russian company "Vobis Computer".

Initially Highscreen brand owned by the German company "Vobis" (divisions METRO Cash & Carry Group). In Russia, under the brand Highscreen were presented Tablet PC device class (line called Smart Display), laptops and computer peripherals.

C, 2009, "Vobis Computer" actively develops Highscreen brand in the Russian market, starting with the supply of smartphones under this brand. Initially the company was sold under its own brand gadgets, which are purchased from manufacturers in China, engaged in only minor external finishing and software localization devices. A similar scheme OEM supply is used in almost all the umbrella brand on the Russian market of mobile electronics.

In 2011, under the brand Highscreen has sold no more than 20-30 thousand Chinese smartphones.

In January-September 2013 it has sold an estimated 150 thousand GfK smartphone Highscreen, and according to the source of the newspaper Vedomosti, about 350 thousand vehicles. The share of the Russian market was estimated at 0.5% - 2.5%.

  • July 2009. Highscreen PP5420 - the first officially delivered to Russia Android-smartphone. The model went on sale 2 months earlier than the HTC Hero (Android first smartphone from HTC, which was delivered in Russia officially). In addition, the world's first Android-smartphone with dual screens.
  •   November 2009. Highscreen Zeus - the first officially delivered to Russia Android-smartphone with a QWERTY-keyboard ("side-slider").
  • July 2010. Highscreen Nano - a smartphone with Windows Mobile operating system. It is running Windows Mobile 6.5.3.
  • September 2010. Highscreen Alex - the first officially delivered to Russia Hybrid reader tablet with two screens: E-Ink and TFT.
  • October 2010. Highscreen Hippo - "martphone-tablet" device is an intermediate form factor with a 5-inch display. Sales started the year before the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note.

  • July 2011. Highscreen Cosmo Duo - one of the two first officially delivered to Russia Android smartphone with two SIM-cards (the second model - Gigabyte GSmart G1310, which is also engaged in the supply of the company "Vobis Computer").

  • n 2012 the company moved from the classical OEM distribution model for independent development of devices. Since the smartphone Highscreen Yummy Duo «Vobis' orders in the design bureau of Southeast Asian unit with unique specifications.   • January 2013 - Smartphone Highscreen Explosion - the first four-core smartphone Highscreen (Samsung Exynos 4412 processor).

  • August 2013 - Highscreen Alpha R, the first Full HD smartphone brand and the first budget Full HD smartphone in Russia, with a 5-inch Sharp screen production. The first smartphone brand Highscreen, which included are two replaceable batteries (and two rear cover). The battery capacity of 2000 mAh and 4000 mAh battery provides up to one week of battery life.
